Emma L.: In Making Bombs for Hitler by Marsha Forchuk Skrypuch, a 9-year-old Ukraine girl named Lida was captured by the Nazis who put her in a work camp. She was the seamstress of the camp for a bit before she got a little more stuff and got comfy from the lady watching her giving her stuff. The head officer found out and switched her job to making bombs. It could have been "making the seams for clothing" or something, but she ended up making bombs. She could have continued getting the extra food and clothes, but no. That's how it affected the story. |
